Recommended: Backup your Jira’s database before the upgrade.
Important note: AT v12.x update performs an automatic ActivityTimeline’s data migration for better performance on the first start so it may take a few minutes for the first start after an upgrade from v11.x depending on the amount of issues in your Jira DC.
This version update includes the following enhancements:
Dynamic Report Grouping: Added a new Group by dropdown in the Customize Report panel.
Users can now switch grouping on the fly without navigating back and forth between configuration and the report view. This significantly speeds up comparison scenarios and ad-hoc report adjustments.
Story Points Support in Project Progress Report: The Project Progress Report now supports Story-points–based calculations. Progress for Projects, Epics, and JQL-based scopes is calculated by completed Story Points, offering more accurate metrics for teams that estimate in Story Points.
Past Worklog Limit (Backdate Restriction): We introduced a new Past Worklog Limit setting that restricts Jira worklogging to N days in the past. Admins can now enforce backdate logging policies directly within ActivityTimeline.
You can Configure it under Configurations → Timesheets Configuration
Status Icons for Worklog Approvals (Compact Mode): Detailed Timesheets now support a Status Icon column for approval statuses. This helps save horizontal space and improves readability, especially in compact layouts.
To add it search for Status Icon in the Columns Drop-Down.

In addition, Jira 11.0.0 - 11.2.0 support is available in the app version ending with “-jira11” suffix.
If you are running Jira DC on the Microsoft SQL Server database with Windows Authentication then you would need to update the corresponding driver library to 10.2.4 (mssql-jdbc_auth-10.2.4.x64.dll
